If you create an additional outlook profile in order to view a different mailbox, you might want the ability to rename your “Outlook” profile to something more meaningful, such as “User – Exchange” or “User – POP3 Comcast”.
The names for the profiles that are stored on your computer are in the registry. A quick edit of the name there will help you differentiate between the different profiles that you have stored.
Just browse to this key in regedit:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles
You’ll probably see your newest profile, and whatever you named it, then you’ll see the “Outlook” profile. Just rename that subkey to whatever you wish, and now you’ll see that name reflected when you choose your profile.
